In May 2000, Coran and I attended a weekend workshop with Edwin Courtenay, during which he did a meditation to connect with the crystal skulls. During the meditation I saw the image of large, perfectly clear skull, which I took to be the Mitchell Hedges skull. It was as if I was a tiny figure, perched on the nose of the skull, staring deep into the eye sockets, which seemed to bore right through me. The experience was totally mesmerising, and one that I shall never forget.
Immediately afterwards I began seeing visions of a red crystal skull. It was similar in colour to ruby aura, like a deep red wine, with a hint of gold, and perfectly clear. The most beautiful object I have ever seen. I saw this skull several times, just hovering in front of my eyes, never saying anything, but obviously trying to communicate in some way.
Some months later I had a reading with Edwin and asked him the significance of this skull. He informed me that the skull was one of the seven major skulls, and connected to the Royal family of Fire of Atlantis, and the powers of passion and emotion. He said that it existed only in the ethers, where it was attempting, with difficulty to find a carver to make it a home. Once it has achieved this, then it may seek to find its way to me.
In March 2001, Coran went to attend a job interview in London. He arrived early to find the building in darkness, so decided to go for a walk, upon which he discovered a crystal shop. After having a look round, he asked the owner if they had any crystal skulls. The answer was "No, but we know people who can make them". Coran told them about the ruby aura skull, they gave him a card, and he left for the interview. The building was still in darkness, so he rang the agency to find out what was going on. To his astonishment, he had been given an address that was a year out of date, even though the agency had been contacting the company at the new address.
On arrival home, we looked at the card and were amused to find that the owners name was Richard Scull !! I contacted Richard, and a clear quartz skull was ordered, to be carved in China to my specification, then sent to America to become ruby aura, in a special heat-treating process that coats the quartz with gold and platinum.
It has been suggested that although these crystals no longer exist naturally, they did during Atlantean times, and have been artificially recreated so that we can once again access the healing energies that they carry. It seems that in Atlantis and Lemuria crystals and metals were often used together in this way.
When I asked one of our other skulls, Lao Tsien if he could give an idea of when this skull would be ready, I was given a date of August 14th. I rang Richard a week before to see if he had any news, to be told that the skull had arrived in the country from China that very day, and that the following day he would be driving down to Bristol to pick it up. We arranged to go and see it at his house a few days later, on August 15th.
When we arrived at Richard's house, the skull (made from clear quartz) was waiting for us on his garden table. I was surprised to see how small it was, and noticed that it had several marks above the eyes. Richard told us that this was not the skull that had been ordered, as the box in which it was packed had unfortunately gone missing. It seems that upon hearing this news, he had driven to Glastonbury and then picked up this skull. He later told me that while he was driving he had the feeling that the skull had always been intended to come from this source, and not from China at all.
We spent about an hour with the skull that evening. The more time we spent with it, the more alive it seemed to become. Our other skulls, Lao Tsien, Lao Tsu and Gentle also seemed to become more activated. This persuaded me that it was indeed the right skull, and I telephoned Richard the following day to give him the good news.
Lao Tsien later told me that the skull had indeed always been meant to come from this source, from Glastonbury. I was puzzled however as to where Richard came in. I reasoned that with a name like Scull he had to have an important connection with the skulls. I was then told that the reason the skull had come via him was that in Atlantis he was the one who was responsible for its destruction. Therefore, in this lifetime, he had chosen to be responsible for its resurrection.
Originally the skull was meant to be arriving back in the UK around 28th September, but due to the events of 11th September, it was delayed, partly because of the shock that everyone felt, and partly because all the flights were grounded. Lao Tsien informed me that for the moment, it was more appropriate that the consciousness remained in the United States, where it was being used to help with the aftermath of what had happened.
The skull finally arrived on 7th January 2002, and is every bit as beautiful as I hoped. It was obvious from the outset that the consciousness is feminine. She is not quite the perfect, translucent, red wine colour that I had been seeing, but more strawberry in tone. The imperfections in the quartz only serve to enhance her human qualities, if skulls can be thought of in that way. Human faces are not after all perfect and symmetrical, so why should skulls be, they are after all a reflection of us! She is nevertheless a beautiful object, with an incredible loving energy.
Ruby is a phenomenally powerful object, that has a very dramatic and dynamic effect on the energy wherever she happens to be, with a compelling, almost hypnotic presence. To begin with, I experienced this as an almost physical sensation, primarily around my brow centre. For some, the energy that she resonates can be almost overwhelming, too overwhelming in fact. She is definitely not for the faint hearted! For this reason I have to be very careful and discerning about who I allow her to be introduced to. For most people it is enough to simply be in her company without the need for touching.
The skull carries a very powerful feminine energy, which I feel is very much connected to feminine archetypes such as Mary Magdalene, Eve and Isis. It is apparent that she carries a tremendous amount of fire energy, which has the power to both destroy and forge. This is partly the reason why some find the energy so overwhelming. Fire is very bound up with the powers of perception, and tearing down the veils of illusion that we have built up around us. Many people are quite comfortable with these veils, and do not want torn down. They subconsciously realise that Ruby has this ability, and this is one of the reasons why not everyone likes her. Some people find her quite frightening, for her gaze and presence leaves them with nowhere to hide, and they find this very uncomfortable and disconcerting.
